The time we have with our kids goes by so fast. Let's start creating memories today.
As my kids grow up I have realize more and more how fast that time goes. It seems like yesterday I found out I was pregnant for the first time and now my first born in 6.5 and in 1st grade. When my kids look back on their childhood I want them to have great memories! I want my kids to remember that I was always there for them. I want my kids to remember that I made things special for them.
What is great about kids and creating memories is it doesn’t have to be anything big or cost a lot of money. Last night I let my daughter stay up later than her brothers and we had popcorn and watched a movie just the two of us. It didn’t take much on my part and didn’t cost a ton of money and yet I know it was special to her.
Another memory making activity I did with my kids that didn’t cost me anything and yet brought lots of laughs and memories is a ball fight. My kids have soft rubber balls and we were having an off day and so I decided to change things up a little bit. I decided to throw a few balls at my kids and it started a huge fight that turned into a time of laughter and fun.
So what are you doing with your kids to make some memories with them? What is something you could do with your kids to start creating memories today?
There are things I have decided to do with my kids so when they look back on their childhood they will have great memories. I want my kids to remember that mom made their birthdays special. I want them to remember that mom tried to make every day things more fun for them. And that I taught them to be kind, share, love each other, respect others, help people, serve others and to treat others they way they want to be treated.
As I write this I am sitting out on my deck as my kids color with chalk on the sidewalk and swing on the playground. Nicely playing together and enjoying a warm afternoon outside. I don’t want what my kids remember from their childhood to be the videos games or TV shows.
I want my kids to remember the friendships they had with their siblings and the adventures they want on. I want them to remember that I was present with them. Even though I am on my computer I still interacting with my kids and answering their questions.
I don’t know about you, but I am a fan of birthdays and holidays. I always try to make them special for my family by decorating our house and having special treats. I love the excitement my kids have when they wake up on their birthday morning to balloons hanging in their doorway. I love how happy they are when they get to choose what we are going to have for dinner that night. Seeing that excitement in my kids and creating those memories makes all the effort worth it.
Do you want to do fun things with your kids but don’t have the time to find ideas or struggle to come up with them? Do one of your kids have a birthday coming up and you don’t know what to do for them? I created my Facebook Group for things like this.
