If you are like me, with young kids at home, most likely you have coloring pages and papers with their art on them all over your house. I love to allow my kids to create and to enjoy doing crafts but every so often I like to do a craft that will last a lot longer. So I decided I wanted to have my kids paint some canvases (I use the panels so I can put them into a frame). And with Valentine’s Day around the corner I decided that this canvas art fun should be with a love theme. My kids had so much fun making this art and I am so excited to display them in my house.
- Canvas Panels (I used 8×10)
- Frames (Optional)
Once I got all the supplies together I took the painters tape and made a design on the canvas. Since I wanted to do a love theme I did hearts and the word love. You can do any number of designs though, from lines to your kids names to pretty much anything you can imagine and make with painters tape. If you have a personal die cut machine you could use that to make a design in vinyl and then put the vinyl on the canvas.
After I put the designs on the canvas and made sure the edges of the tape were down good, it was time for the kids to have fun. I put the canvas on trays, put the paint on a paper plate and let them go to town.
As soon as they finished painting I carefully removed the tape and set them aside to dry.
After they finished drying you can place them in a frame or display them however you want. These would make a great gift for Valentine’s Day for a parent or a grandparent.
I would love to see your kids designs so comment below and let me see what your kids have created. If you are looking for another love themed craft check out this Marbleized Painted Paper Craft.
Until next time, keep creating memories with your kids.
